Facebook Is Looking Forward to Changing the Dynamics of Social Media and Changing the Way How People Perceive Social Media

Facebook changed the game back in 2004, and the tech giant is planning to do so again in the near future. In the latest report, it has been revealed that Mark Zuckerberg-led company has already laid out plans to integrate several of its applications. The interlinking of these “Families of Application” would significantly change people’s perception of social media.

Over the past few years, Facebook has cracked some of the biggest deals in the tech industry. One of the deals is the 19 billion signing of WhatsApp back in 2014. Now, Facebook is thriving due to its prominent social media application and from its marquee applications such as WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram.

However, Mark Zuckerberg had a lot of other and bigger ambitions for his company. From developing a VR workspace to interlinking, a family of Facebook applications, the CEO of one of the largest tech companies in the world has already set his goal. He is leading his company to execute exciting ideas for changing people’s outlook towards social media and introducing new ways of virtual social interaction.

To put it into simple words, Mark Zuckerberg has thought of developing a solitary application that will integrate WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram DM functions. Zuckerberg wanted to create an application that that can work as a separate application for all three services. However, it could also make them interact depending upon the requirements of the user.

It means that a friend from Facebook can directly text you on your Instagram DM if you prefer to use only Instagram. So, if you find any exciting post on Instagram and want to share it with a friend who is currently active on WhatsApp and inactive on other social media platforms, you can share directly on the WhatsApp application.

The idea was introduced to top bosses of Facebook in 2020, and since then, users have seen the efforts to link Facebook Messenger and Instagram DM. There are no statistics to suggest how uses actually like this feature, but the company has successfully interlinked the two different applications. Facebook is making all efforts to implement this interlinking plan and using a strategy that they call “Platform and Services.” The idea is to facilitate the cross-linking between the user applications as smoothly as possible.

However, the reality is that users are still far from getting a cross-linked solitary application. Zuckerberg has plans to make Instagram DM’s appear like Facebook Messenger. So that users who have a habit of communicating via Facebook Messenger should have an easy texting experience while transitioning. The fact that users can like a message on Instagram has made the top executives at Facebook interested in cross-linking the two messaging applications.

Now, all the engineers know that cross-linking Facebook Messenger and Instagram DM wouldn’t be as technically challenging as it appears. Both of them are messaging platforms of a social media platform. The complicated stuff comes when they would try to incorporate WhatsApp Messenger under the same umbrella. WhatsApp is entirely different from the rest as it only enables communication through cell phone numbers. You can only communicate with a person if you know their cell phone number.

Nevertheless, the focus of Facebook is currently on aligning Facebook Messenger and Instagram DM and make the user messaging experience as smooth as possible. They are further developing this cross-linking, which would ultimately allow users to message each other from one platform to another without experiencing any problem of switching.

Conclusion

Facebook rules over social media, and virtual interaction between the users and the company always makes the interaction smooth and engaging. From introducing emojis and filters to adding the feature of Instagram reels, Facebook always looks for exciting ways to make the interaction between users as entertaining as possible.

Now, the tech giant has shifted its focus to messaging applications. They have plans to introduce a cross-linking platform with all three major applications, namely WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram DM.
